Description
This is a rare World War II United States Army Air Forces navigator instructor wing by Balfour. This wing was obviously a regular Balfour-produced WWII Navigator wing that a Navigator Instructor painted gold to wear while instructing. It has a nice mellow patina and obvious correct wear on back, at the bottom edge and tips, and the pin is completely devoid of paint.
I have no doubt that this wing was modified for and worn by a Navigator Instructor, but since the modification is only a layer of paint, easily dissolved by some paint remover, I am just pricing the wing at the same I would price a standard Navigator wing by this manufacturer.
Circa World War II.
