ARTIFACT:

This is a rare circa World War II United States Army Air Forces Airborne Troop Carrier "patch-type" distinctive insignia. The insignia was made in the United Kingdom. This style of DI would have been worn by transport pilots on D-Day.

VINTAGE:

Circa World War II.

SIZE:

Approximately 1" in height and 13/16" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Gilt brass, enamel.

ATTACHMENT:

Horizontal British kick (Y-style) pin with C catch.

MARKINGS:

None.
