Description
This is a rare DI for the United States Army 325th Glider Infantry Regiment from World War II. Attached to the 82nd Division, the 325th participated in the Battle of the Bulge and at D-Day in Normandy, among other venues. Gliders were oftentimes more reliable than parachutes for accuracy of drops, and the 325th perfected this method. The DI reads LET'S GO and shows a columned temple and the Cross of Lorraine.
VINTAGE:Circa World War II.
SIZE:Approximately 1-3/16" in height and 7/8" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Sterling silver, enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Vertical pin on bar with come-under locking swivel catch.
MARKINGS:H.P. NEWCOMBE CO. N.Y.C. STERLING; PAT. number on pin bar.
