Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a Rare WWII Full Size American Volunteer Group Flying Tiger Badge and 5 Candid Photos of 1st Squadron Crew Chief George F. Curran. This is a nice example of the full size AVG badge by Whitehead & Hoag of Newark, NJ. The one photo in particular is quite cool: the close-up of the Squadron Insignia painted on an aircraft, apparently form when it was first chosen for the squadron. 

VINTAGE:

Circa WWII.

SIZE:

Approximately Photos are 3-3/8” x 2-3/8” Pin is 1-15/16” in length by approx. 1-1/8” in height.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Pin: Gold-plated brass with multi-colored enamel. Photo: Paper, ink

ATTACHMENT:

Horizontal pin with drop-in locking swivel catch.
