ARTIFACT:

This is a rare World War II Spanish Military Air Transport Service Flight Engineer Badge. The Military Air Transport Service was Spain's equivalent of the United States Army Air Forces Air Transport Command or the earlier Air Corps Ferrying Command. The badge shows an eagle on a blue enameled disk with a Royal Crown at top. On the eagle's chest is a 3-bladed propeller, atop of which is a 5 cylinder Rotary Aircraft motor, denoting Flight Engineer.

VINTAGE:

Circa World War II.

SIZE:

About 1-3/4" in height and 3" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Gilt brass with blue enamel.

ATTACHMENT:

Horizontal kick pin with C catch.
