ARTIFACT: This is a very rare World War II badge for French aviation cadets training in the United States. The badge is for the Centre de Formation du Personnel Navigant en AmŽrique (CFPNA), or Training Centre of Cabin Crew in America, which was formed on February 1, 1943. The badge is in sterling silver by Cartier and has a great design: three baby chicks, one each in red, white and blue, stand against the profile of a starred and striped eagle. The badge reads ILS GRANDIRONT (they will grow up).

VINTAGE: Circa World War II.

SIZE: About 1" in width by 1" in height.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Sterling silver with red, white and blue enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Horizontal pin with a "come-under" locking catch.

MARKINGS: CARTIER STERLING.

ITEM NOTES: The badge you receive will either be this one or one in very similar condition. This is from a French militaria collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VBEX04 LCIEX SCIEX1/14

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): Very minor wear and tarnishing.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
