ARTIFACT: This is a Rare World War II 1944 10K Gold New York State Merchant Maritime Academy Ring with Jade Stone with Masonic Insignia.
Originally earned & worn by Kenneth M. Varnum and his initials are engraved inside the Ring. Size 8.75 - 9 / 10K Gold: 17.18grams
During World War II, the New York State Maritime Academy played a crucial role in training merchant mariners for the war effort. The academy expanded its program, condensed coursework, and housed a Navy training unit, the Naval School for Midshipmen. The academy's training ship, the Empire State, was also used to train cadets from other maritime schools.
