Description
This is a rare 1972 Thai-made United States Marine Corps patch for Operation Rose Garden. The Royal Thai Air Base in Nam Phong became the Marine Corps' air operations base in 1972, and was soon nicknamed the "Rose Garden" after the musical hit by Lynn Anderson. The patch shows a rose at center and reads ROSE GARDEN "72" I DON'T KNOW IF THERE'S A HELL BUT I KNOW THERE'S A NAM PHONG.
VINTAGE:Circa 1972.
SIZE:4-1/2" diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Cotton patch embroidered in multi-colored silk/cotton threads.
