ARTIFACT: This is a circa 1930s unofficial German-American Bund siegrune (victory rune) pocket knife. It is in the Nazi colors with dazzler slab and mini-siegrunes in all four bolsters. The Bund was a pro-Nazi, pro-Hitler American organization in existence before and during World War II. Possession of this knife frequently got its owners, mostly youths, into trouble with the law. Some savvy lawyers saved their clients by exposing the double standard that protected knife-carrying Boy Scouts, but because of the controversy the knife remained only "unofficial". The Bund used the "victory rune" symbol on all of their flags and pennants. The knife is by Utica Cutlery Company and has a maker mark at the base of one blade.

The knife has Rare, Large 3-Blade Knife. All Blades used, 2 smaller ones are slightly re-shaped. Missing one slab pey. Rare, Good-Lovely, Knife.

VINTAGE: Circa mid-1930's.

SIZE: Approximately 3-7/8" in length and 7/8" in width (when closed); large blade is about 2-5/8" by 1/2" (at widest point).

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Steel, celluloid.

ATTACHMENT: To be carried in pocket.

MARKINGS: N/A

ITEM NOTES: This is from an early Nazi Germany collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MAJJP20 LDGEX04/01/20 SDGEX06/28/20
