ARTIFACT:

This is a rare late 1930s United States Air Corps 2nd Base Squadron distinctive insignia (DI) by S.E. Eby Co. of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This insignia is listed in Jay Massaro's book on USAAF DIs as #2AThe DI shows two columns at it s center and reads EX FUNDAMENTO VIRES (Strength comes from the base).

VINTAGE:

Circa late 1930s.

SIZE:

Approximately 1-1/4" in height and 1-1/8" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Gilt brass, enamel.

ATTACHMENT:

Vertical pin with come-under locking swivel catch.

MARKINGS:

EBY CO. PHILA.
