ARTIFACT: This is a rare late 1930s United States Air Corps 2nd Base Squadron distinctive insignia (DI) by S.E. Eby Co. of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This insignia is listed in Jay Massaro's book on USAAF DIs as #2A2. The DI shows two columns at it s center and reads EX FUNDAMENTO VIRES (Strength comes from the base).

VINTAGE: Circa late 1930s.

SIZE: Approximately 1-1/4" in height and 1-1/8" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gilt brass, enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical pin with come-under locking swivel catch.

MARKINGS: EBY CO. PHILA.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Army Air Forces collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MDJX13 L/SCGEX3/13

CONDITION: 7 (Very Fine): The DI has some light abrasions to the enamel.
