ARTIFACT:
This is a circa 1930s distinctive insignia for the United States Air Service 12th Reconnaissance Squadron. The DI was made by Dondero of Washington, D.C. and shows three golden planes sailing into a blue sky out of a cloudbank. It is in excellent condition.
VINTAGE:
Circa 1930s.
SIZE:
Approximately 1" in diameter.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Gilt brass, enamel.
ATTACHMENT:
Vertical T-style pin with come-under locking swivel catch.
MARKINGS:
WASH D.C. A.M. DONDERO INC.
ITEM NOTES:
This is from a pre-WWII United States Air Service DI collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MEL13 LCHX12/13
