Rare & Large 1890s Brockton, Massachusetts Police Badge in Nickel-Plated Brass

This is a rare circa 1890s police badge from the Brockton, Massachusetts, a city not too far from famous Plymouth. The large badge is a convex nickel-plated brass disc. The details on the badge are numerous and ornate, from the scrolling flourishes to the underlining of the letters spelling POLICE to the shortened serifs coming out of the top center of these same letters.

Circa 1890s.

Approximately 2" in diameter.
