Description
Rare Italian WWII 1st Special Service Force shoulder patch. Also known as the 'Devil's Brigade', it was an elite unit established in 1942 that served with the United States Fifth Army. The 1st Special Service Force was engaged in combat overseas during WWII and fought in the Aleutian Islands, Italy, and southern France before being deactivated in 1944 and received a Congressional Gold Medal in 201The red, spearhead shaped patch is done in a Bevo weave and reads: "USA" horizontally across the top and "CANADA" vertically down the center.
