Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a rare leather jacket patch for the United States Army Air Forces 386th or 387th Bomb Squadron, 312th Bomb Group, 5th Air Force which belonged to Major Joseph B. Bilitzke, squadron commander. The patch shows a skeleton riding a missile and thumbing his nose-hole at the enemy and has Major Bilitzke's name on reverse

VINTAGE:

Circa World War II.

SIZE:

6-1/8" diameter.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Silk-screened leather patch.

MARKINGS:

LT. BILITZKE handwritten on reverse.
