Description
Rare and historical circa 1940 United States Navy Pilot wing originally worn by Dr. Ralph W. E. Cox, founder of US Overseas Airways. The wing is inscribed on the back of the anchor stock: "COX" and is a great pre-war example of a Hilborn & Hamburger USN pilot wing in gold-plated brass and is from the original owner's estate, Dr. Ralph W.E. Cox along with USOA Pilot and Captain wings. (see links below)
VINTAGE:Circa 1940.
SIZE:Approximately 2-3/4 in length x 7/8" in height.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Gold-plated brass.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal pin with come-under locking catch.
