ARTIFACT:

Rare WWII United States Army Air Forces sterling shirt size Air Crew Wing by Luxenberg Type The wing shows the Great Seal in the center engraved in great detail, as are the feather wings.

This is an early war example of this wing, having been made by soldering the central eagle seal onto an observer wing, before an actual die for the Air Crew Wing had been created. 

VINTAGE:

Circa early WWII.

SIZE:

Approximately 2 1/16" in length x 1/2" in height.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Sterling silver.

ATTACHMENT:

Horizontal pin with come under locking catch.

MARKINGS:

"LUXENBERG STERLING NEW YORK"
