Description
This is an early twentieth century member lapel badge for the Red Cross of China. The Red Cross was founded in China in March 1904, just over one month after the outbreak the Russo-Japanese War. Originally named the Shanghai International Red Cross Committee, the group initially aided Chinese civilians who were geographically caught in the crossfire of the war between Japan and Russia.
VINTAGE:Circa early 1900s.
SIZE:Approximately 13/16" in diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Brass, enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Single screw post with disc backing, stabilization tooth.

CONDITION:7- (Very Fine-): The badge shows some light wear to the enamel and areas of moderate tarnish on reverse.
