Description
This is a rare and early (circa 1963) United States Army 121st Aviation Company beret or baseball cap patch. Previously known as the 93rd Transportation (Helicopter) Company, the unit was redesignated as the 121st Aviation Company in June 196The 121st's predecessor had been the first US helicopter company on the scene in the Mekong Delta, based out of Soc Trang in the Republic of Vietnam. The twill patch was beautifully hand-embroidered in-country. It shows a tiger at center and reads SOC TRANG TIGERS, a nickname taken from the group mascot, "Tuffy" the Tiger.

SIZE:Approximately 2-9/16" in height and 1-7/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Cotton twill hand-embroidered in cotton/silk threads.
