This is a rare circa early 1950s flight jacket patch for a graduate of the United States Navy Fleet Air Gunnery Unit (FAGU). FAGU was the predecessor of today's Top Gun program. The patch is Japanese-made and is a black and white bull's-eye with a red lightning bolt coming from its center.
VINTAGE:Circa early 1950s.
SIZE:Approximately 2-15/16" in diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Twill embroidered in cotton/silk/polyester threads, muslin backing.
ATTACHMENT:None.
MARKINGS:MADE IN JAPAN label.
