ARTIFACT: Rare circa 1944 United Kingdom Glider Regiment, Second Pilot Wing (Glider Pilot) as worn by short-time trained sergeants in the regiment. The wing features light blue wings with a yellow ring surrounding an embroidered letter 'G'. The mission of the combat glider was to land airborne infantrymen and/or hardware behind enemy lines, often in darkness, and usually in support of paratroop landings.

VINTAGE: Circa 1944

SIZE: Approximately 3 ??" x ??"

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Cotton, polyester thread, embroidered on wool felt with cotton backing.

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine - Excellent): The wing shows light use or light storage wear, a small area of separation of felt and cotton backing.
