Rare ca 1937-41 Cass County, North Dakota Badge of Sheriff Arnim E. Roethke. This is a great little two-tone badge originally worn by Sheriff Arnim E. Roethke when he was Sheriff of Cass County North Dakota from 1937 to 194The badge reads: "A. E. ROETHKE SHERIFF CASS COUNTY". The brief bio on the Cass County History of the Sheriff's Office reads as follows :
Arnim Roethke was originally from Tower City, North Dakota where he was a butcher, grocer, cattle buyer, and town marshall. In 1937 he came to Fargo after being elected to the office of Cass County Sheriff. Arnim Roethke passed away in 1958.
This is a great badge of an old time North Dakota Lawman who reached the pinnacle of his career as a full Sheriff in the years just before WWII, when the west was finally tamed.
Gold plated brass (mostly polished off front) with nickel silver seal.
