ARTIFACT:

Rare circa 1900 early Musician's Labor Union member badge for the Musician's Mutual Benefit Association. The National League of Musicians joined with the Federation of Labor to form the American Federation of Musicians in the early 1900's. The badge shows a spread winged eagle perched on an ornately embellished lyre, above it reads: "ST. LOUIS" and beneath are the letters: "MMBA".

Approximately 1 ¼" x 1 1/8"

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Gilt brass.

ATTACHMENT:

Single screw post with stabilizer and disc backing
