ARTIFACT: This is a rare circa 1920 set of dog tags for the United States Marine Corps. The enlisted man who owned the tags, Frank C. Mallery, participated in the Banana Wars in the Caribbean. A muster sheet from 1922 (not included) shows him as a Motion Picture operator with 3rd Marines in the Dominican Republic. He trained at Quantico. One of the Dog Tags appears to have a middle initial of M but the records clearly show that the other Dog Tag is correct with the middle initial C.

VINTAGE: Circa 1920's

SIZE: 1-3/8" diameter each.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Aluminum.

ATTACHMENT: Two holes in each tag for string attachment.

MARKINGS: None.

ITEM NOTES: This is from an early United States Marine Corps collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. MCHX06 LBDEX07/08 SBDEX09/21

CONDITION: 5+ (Fine-): Tags are well-worn.

GUARANTEE: As with all my artifacts, this piece is guaranteed to be original, as described.
