ARTIFACT:
This is a rare and great 1920s automobile tail light lens from Rickenbacker-Berks Motor Company.
Rickenbacker was the leading United States ace of World War I, and designed the famous Hat-in-the-Ring logo that the 94th Aero Squadron used in the war.
He won rights to it in a court battle against the US Army (Air Service) and then used it at other companies he started or at which he acted as CEO during his lifetime.
He gave the logo rights back to the USAAF for the squadron to use again in World War II and thereafter.
VINTAGE:
Circa 1920's.
SIZE:
Approximately 1-1/2" in height and 2-3/16" in width and 1/4" thick.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Glass.
