Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a rare security officer sun helmet from the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia. These Games became infamous due to the bombing perpetrated by Eric Robert Rudolph that killed two and injured over one hundred spectators. The hat is in light straw-colored wicker with a colorful embroidered patch on the front and leather trim. There is an adjustable strap with Velcro and a terry cloth sweatband inside. The hat was manufactured by Dorfman Pacific of Stockton, California.

Circa 1996.

SIZE:

No size tag: approximate size 7 - 1/2 or 7 3/8 (adjustable Velcro strap inside liner).

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Wicker, leather, patch fully embroidered in cotton/polyester, Velcro, metal eyelets, terry-cloth sweatband.

ATTACHMENT:

Adjustable Velcro strap inside liner.

CONDITION:

8 (Excellent-): The helmet is in terrific condition with only some minor discoloration to the sweatband inside.
