ARTIFACT: This is a rare circa 1957 First Officer jacket, wing and pants for Northeast Airlines, formerly Boston-Maine Airways. Both pieces were made by Delta Uniforms and are named to Mr. Angelo "Andy" Andon on their labels. Andon, a World War II veteran, joined Northeast in 1956 and was a mechanic and flight engineer as well as a pilot for the company. He passed away at the age of 87 in 2010. The jacket fastens with great US MAIL buttons and has three interior pockets. The wing bears the company's enameled Pilgrim logo. The pants are in a matching chambray blue color.

VINTAGE: Circa 1957.

SIZE: Jacket: approximately 20-1/2" (armpit to armpit), 22" from shoulder seam to end of cuff, 18" across back shoulder to shoulder and about 28-3/4" from base of collar to hem. Pants: 33"' waist (laid flat), 25" inseam. Wing: 3-1/4" in length by 15/16" in height.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Jacket: 50% wool, 50% Dacron blend, wool felt under collar, embroidery tape, silk lining, brass buttons; pants: 50% wool, 50% Dacron blend, muslin lining, resin buttons, leather inserts inside pant cuffs; wing: gilt brass, enamel; buttons: brass.

ATTACHMENT: Jacket: buttons, with buttons on pockets; pants: hook closure, zipper fly, buttons on rear pockets; wing: horizontal pin with drop-in locking swivel catch; buttons: wire loops.

CONDITION: 7+ (Very Fine+): The jacket and pants both show some light wear and light to medium fading in some spots. The inner waist liner grip has become brittle and is flaking off. The wing is fantastic condition.
