Ext Rare Early 1960s USS Independence CVA-62 Intelligence Officer's Jacket Patch

ARTIFACT: This is a rare Italian-made Air Intelligence Officer's Jacket Patch from the U.S.S. Independence CVA-62. This was most likely manufactured on the Independence's 1963 European Tour which brought them to Italy among other places. The patch would have been worn through the Independence's Vietnam Tour in early 1965.

VINTAGE: Circa early 1960's.

SIZE: About 5" in diameter.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS: Silk / cotton embroidery on cotton and woven wool felt with cotton backing.

ATTACHMENT: To be sewn onto Flight Clothing.

MARKINGS: None.
