ARTIFACT:
This is a 1950's baseball cap badge on natural twill for Colonial Airlines. Originally christened in 1928 as Canadian Colonial Airways, Colonial was renamed May 1, 1942 and operated through the 1950s, when it merged with Eastern. The patch is bordered in red and shows a seagull-like plane in flight.
VINTAGE:
Circa 1950's.
SIZE:
Approximately 2-7/16" in diameter.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Twill embroidered in silk/cotton threads, mesh backing.
