Description
ARTIFACT:
This is a rare 1933 Chicago American Air Races contestant "wing". Debuting on Independence Day in 1900, the Chicago American was a newspaper initially owned by mogul William Randolph Hearst. The pin is a wing with a skyscraper at its center.
VINTAGE: Circa 1933.
SIZE: Approximately 1-5/16" in height and 2-9/16" in width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS: Gold-plated brass.
ATTACHMENT: Horizontal pin with drop-in locking swivel catch.
