Description

ARTIFACT: This is a rare 1930s bayonet for a Polish Mauser 98 rifle by RADOM. The bayonet has very clear maker and proof marks on the ricasso on both sides of the blade, and a number stamped on the guard. It comes with a metal scabbard and has a leather frog for attachment.

VINTAGE: Circa 1930s.

SIZE: Bayonet: approximately 15-1/8” in length and 2-1/4” in width; blade only: 1” by 9-7/8”; scabbard only: 16-3/8” x 2-1/4”.

CONSTRUCTION/MATERIALS: Steel, wood, leather.

ATTACHMENT: Frog with hole and button on strap (strap has been severed in one spot).

MARKINGS: 8605 P; F.B. RADOM and small mark; W.P. proof mark and eagle.

CONDITION: 7- (Very Fine-): The bayonet and its blade are in very nice shape with only light wear; frog is somewhat worn and strap has been severed in one place.
