ARTIFACT:
This is a Portsmouth, New Hampshire Fire Association ink blotter. Ink Blotters were made from soft paper which was highly absorbent, normally in the form of a card like this one, and could also be used for cosmetic purposes to absorb excess oil or fat from the skin.

Circa 1930's-40's
