Description
This is a parade, convention or election ribbon for Wheelock G. Veazey, a New Hampshire native and active figure in national and state (Vermont) politics. Veazey, who among other things was an attorney, a Vermont senator and a delegate-at-large to the Republican National Convention, received a Medal of Honor for actions taken at the Battle of Gettysburg, and held different positions within the Grand Army of the Republic. The ribbon is in mustard yellow silk with an embroidered border design and reads VEAZEY. Veazey passed away in 1898.
