Description

ARTIFACT:

This is an old Japanese warrior netsuke (miniature carving) in bone. He is carrying a satchel slung over his shoulder and has on a type of short battle garment. A cord was typically fished through the hole running through the center of the warrior and the netsuke was then hung from a kimono sash.

VINTAGE:

Circa early to mid-19th century.

SIZE:

Approximately 2-3/16" in height and 1" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Bone.

Hole.

CONDITION:

8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The netsuke has some light wear which is evident mostly on the facial features and attractive mellowing.
