This is a beautiful Northwest Airlines U.S. Air Mail wing in sterling silver by Josten. Northwest had begun in 1926 as Northwest Airways but changed its name in 1933 to be allowed to carry air mail. The wing is nicely detailed and there is a red, white and blue bull's-eye design at center.
VINTAGE:Circa 1950s.
SIZE:Approximately 1-3/8" height and 1-7/8" width.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Sterling silver with enamel.
ATTACHMENT:Horizontal pin with drop-in locking swivel catch.
MARKINGS:JOSTEN STERLING.
