Description
Nice WWII United States Navy Commissioning Pennant, or "Jack" size 7 - the size usually associated with submarines. The pennant displays seven sewn stars against a rectangle of navy blue and two long pieces of wool, one red and the other white that tapers down and breaks into tails at the end. There is a wartime zinc plated steel grommet and the reverse reads: "COMM PENN 7". This example is from the Portsmouth, New Hampshire area.
