Description
ARTIFACT:
This is a nice circa World War II boatswain's whistle in sterling silver hanging from a wonderful woven lanyard. A boatswain (also bos'n or bosun) is the senior sailor on board a ship who oversees the deck crew and all the ship's equipment. The whistle is marked STERLING on the side.
VINTAGE:
Circa World War II.
SIZE:
Whistle: approximately 5-1/2" in length and 1" in height; lanyard: about 20".

Sterling silver, woven cord.
