ARTIFACT:

Nice, minty WWII United States Army 1st Special Service Forces fully embroidered shoulder patch. Also known as the 'Devil's Brigade', it was an elite unit established in 1942 that served with the United States Fifth Army. The 1st Special Service Forces were engaged in combat overseas during WWII and fought in the Aleutian Islands, Italy, and southern France before being deactivated in 194The Special Service Forces received a Congressional Gold Medal in 201The red, spearhead shaped patch reads: "USA" horizontally across the top and "CANADA" vertically down the center.

Approximately 3-1/8" x 7/8".

Fully embroidered, silk/cotton.
