Description
This is a beautiful Korean Occupation (or possibly Korean War) period United States Army "PX" lighter decorated in-country with a beautiful paua shell inlay. The front displays the original owner's initials and a terrific dragon and the reverse reads KOREA and shows a hut. Lighters such as these were nicknamed "PX" for Post Exchange, a serviceman's go-to store for necessities and "luxuries" alike.
VINTAGE:Circa 1945-1953.
SIZE:Approximately 2-1/4" in height and 1-1/2" in width and 9/16" in thickness.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Painted steel, paua shell inlay.
ATTACHMENT:Hinge.
MARKINGS:W.J.K. initials.
