This is a nice Japanese-made patch for the USS Sea Robin SS-407, launched from the Portsmouth Naval Ship Yard on May 25, 194Her first war patrol began with receiving shelling that luckily fell short of its mark, initiated by a Scandinavian vessel that confused the Sea Robin with a German U-boat. Sea Robin received three battle stars for her World War II service.
VINTAGE:Circa 1960s.
SIZE:About 5 in diameter.
CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:Fully embroidered with cotton/poly/silk embroidery thread.
ATTACHMENT:To be sewn onto garment.
