Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a minty USS Jallao SS-386 Japanese-made patch with a vibrantly colored angry fish holding a torpedo. USS Jallao (SS-368). The Jallao was launched from Manitowoc, Wisconsin on June 12, 194She was decommissioned on September 30, 1946 and recommissioned during the Korean War. Her second decommissioning took place just over thirty years after her initial launching. Jallao sunk a Japanese warship on her first voyage and went on a total of four total World War II patrols.

Circa 1960s.

About 4-3/4 in width by 5" in height.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Fully embroidered with cotton/poly/silk embroidery thread.
