Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a Nice, 1940's - 1950's Boston, Massachusetts Police Patrolman Series 7 Brinks / Clamshell / Sunburst Radiator Badge.

The breast badge reads: "POLICE BOSTON" and in the center disc depicts a port of Boston scene and below it reads: "BOSTONIA CONDITA AD. 1630", around the disc embossed letters read: "SICUT CIVITATIS REGIMINE DONATA AD 1822 PATRIBUS SIT DEUS NOBIS". On back is an applied disc with the control number 5040. 
This badge was probably never refurbished during its period of use, sporting the original Nickel finish as opposed to the re-plate chrome finish. 

VINTAGE:

Circa 1940's - 1950's.

SIZE:

Approximately 2-7/8" in height x 2-3/16" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Nickel plated brass.

ATTACHMENT:

Vertical kick pin with drop in locking catch.
