Description

ARTIFACT:

This is a beautifully enameled sterling silver Victoria, Australia general registered nurse pin. The pin came to us along with two other pins (they are listed at the bottom of this page). This pin and one of the others are engraved on reverse with the same name: E. J. Hobson. The pin is numbered, is from the 1940s and is by Stokes. Against a field of robin's egg-blue is shown the southern cross, part of Victoria's state flag.

VINTAGE:

Circa 1940s.

SIZE:

Approximately 15/16" in height and 15/16" in width.

CONSTRUCTION / MATERIALS:

Enameled sterling silver.

ATTACHMENT:

Horizontal pin with C catch.

MARKINGS:

E.J. HOBSON 22984 STOKES STG SIL.

ITEM NOTES:

CONDITION:

8 (Excellent-): The pin shows only very light wear with all enamel intact and tarnish on the reverse.
