ARTIFACT: This is a Model 1836 United States military pistol converted from flintlock to percussion. The pistol was manufactured by Asa Waters of Milbury, Mississippi. It is a .54 calibre smoothbore pistol, and was the last flintlock gun manufactured for the United States military. Most of the Model 1836s ended up altered.

VINTAGE: Circa 1839 (dated plate).

SIZE: Approximately 14-1/2" in length and " in height; barrel length: 8-7/16"; tang: 1-1/2"; lockplate: 4-1/2".

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Steel, wood, brass.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: A. (Asa) WATERS MILBURY, MS. 1839 T.

ITEM NOTES: This is from a United States Army collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. KEZAR LFIEX4/12 SDJJX11/13

CONDITION: 6+ (Fine-Very Fine): The pistol is in good condition with several small to medium areas of wear, tarnish and oxidation.
