ARTIFACT: WWII United States Coast Guard Port of New York photo identification issued to a United States Customs Clerk. The card shows a black and white photograph and reads: "IDENTIFICATION ONLY NOT A PASS ISSUED BY CAPTAIN OF PORT NEW YORK IS", "MANUEL CABRAL JR.", "CLERK BUREAU OF CUSTOMS TREASURY DEPT CUSTOM HOUSE N.Y.", (signature) Stanley (?) REAR ADMIRAL", "VALIDATED UNITED STATES COAST GUARD", "AMERICAN BANK NOTE COMPANY". The reverse features Cabral's fingerprint and shows the date of issue: "6-28-44". This identification card came along with the US Customs uniform buttons and a beautiful US Customs Hat Badge, see links below.
