Lovely 1943 Los Angeles Metropolitan Golf Assoc. 3rd Place Medal to S. E. Davis

Lovely 1943 Los Angeles Metropolitan Golf Association 3rd Place Medal awarded to S. E. Davis in enameled and coppered sterling silver. The center of the medal features a golfer teeing off inside a white enameled ring that reads: "LOS ANGELES METROPOLITAN 1943" and the very outer edge shows nicely detailed wreath joined together at the bottom in a bow. Normally, third place medals would be entirely made of bronze or copper, this example being coppered sterling was likely done due to wartime metal shortages. The reverse of the medal reads: "3rd 14 – 17 S. E. DAVIS"
