Description
Lovely 1943 Los Angeles Metropolitan Golf Association 3rd Place Medal awarded to S. E. Davis in enameled and coppered sterling silver. The center of the medal features a golfer teeing off inside a white enameled ring that reads: "LOS ANGELES METROPOLITAN 1943" and the very outer edge shows nicely detailed wreath joined together at the bottom in a bow. Normally, third place medals would be entirely made of bronze or copper, this example being coppered sterling was likely done due to wartime metal shortages. The reverse of the medal reads: "3rd 14 17 S. E. DAVIS"
