ARTIFACT: Lovely 1943 Los Angeles Metropolitan Golf Association 3rd Place Medal awarded to S. E. Davis in enameled and coppered sterling silver. The center of the medal features a golfer teeing off inside a white enameled ring that reads: "LOS ANGELES METROPOLITAN 1943" and the very outer edge shows nicely detailed wreath joined together at the bottom in a bow. Normally, third place medals would be entirely made of bronze or copper, this example being coppered sterling was likely done due to wartime metal shortages. The reverse of the medal reads: "3rd 14 – 17 S. E. DAVIS"

VINTAGE: Circa 1943

SIZE: Approximately 1 5/16" round.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Enameled and coppered sterling silver.

ATTACHMENT: Loop.

MARKINGS: "3rd 14 – 17 S. E. DAVIS STERLING"

ITEM NOTES: This is from a vintage sports collection which we will be listing more of over the next few months. VEX15 LAGEX4/15

CONDITION: 8+ (Excellent): Medal shows minor to moderate wear, nearly all the coppered and enamel details remain intact.
