ARTIFACT:
This is a grouping originally belonging to 1st Lieutenant Laurence J. Koncelik of the United States 364th Bomb Squadron, 305th Bomb Group, 8th Air Force. Lt. Koncelik was a bomber and navigator who earned two battle stars for his service in the European Theatre. The grouping includes a sterling silver bomber wing by Meyer, a 364th Bomb Squadron patch, two 305th Bomb Group patches, two 8th Air Force patches (one in bullion), six tagged bomb pins, various insignia, an 8th Air Force D. R. Navigation certificate, a separation qualification record, a certificate of honor, a certificate of appreciation, official letters from the White House, a bomber/navigator school yearbook featuring art by cartoonist Milton Caniff, a pilot rating book, a notebook and lots of additional paperwork.

Circa World War II.
SIZE:
Wing: approximately 15/16" in height and 3" in width; 364th BS patch: approximately 5-1/8" in diameter; 305th BG patch (large): approximately 5-5/16" in height and 4-5/16" in width; 8th AF patch (bullion): approximately 2-7/16" in diameter; documents: mostly 8-1/2" by 11"; the rest of the items are various sizes.
MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION:
Wing: sterling silver; 364th BS patch: painted leather; 305th BG patch (large): painted leather; 8th AF patch (bullion): felt embroidered in bullion and cotton/silk threads with cotton backing; documents: paper, some of heavy stock.
ATTACHMENT:
Wing: horizontal pin with come-under locking swivel catch; bomb pins: each has a handwritten tag; yearbook: glued binding.
MARKINGS:
Wing: STERLING and Meyer maker's mark; certificate of honor: COPYRIGHT INC. GEORGE WADE ST. PAUL MINN. and union mark.
