ARTIFACT: This is a circa late World War II ashtray for the Air Transport Command, European Division. The ashtray is in painted cast aluminum, and was made in Europe.

VINTAGE: Circa late World War II.

SIZE: Overall diameter: 5-1/4"e;Top edge is 5/16"e; deep. Cigarette depression go down another 1/4"e; from the bottom of that edge, for an overall of 13/16"e; drop from the top surface. The inner part of the astray has an external diameter of 3-1/4"e;, and that angels down to a diameter of 2-3/4"e; at the bottom. The height of the area that tapers from larger to smaller on the bottom part of the ashtray is about 9/16".

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Painted cast aluminum.

ATTACHMENT: None.

MARKINGS: None.

CONDITION: 8- (Very Fine-Excellent): The tray shows some light wear only.
