Description
Late 19th century Civil War Veteran badge for the 12th New Hampshire Volunteer Infantry in enameled sterling silver. The badge shows all three of the Corps the Regiment was attached to during the Civil War. The Diamond shape of the badge represents the 3rd Corps, the Heart in the center for the 24th Corps, and the cross in the center of the Heart represents the 18th Corps. The points of the Diamond show: "12" at the top, "N" and "H" on the left and right, and "V" at the bottom in black enamel detail and the heart is also outlined with enamel detail.
