ARTIFACT: This is a circa late 1950s beret badge for the French 13th Demi-Brigade of the Foreign Legion (13e Demi-Brigade de Légion Étrangère, 13e DBLE). This design of badge would have been worn during the Algerian War, which lasted from 1955 until 1962. The DI is by Arthus Bertrand of Paris. It has a fantastic serpentine dragon at the bottom and is brightly enameled with the Cross of Lorraine.

VINTAGE: Circa late 1950s.

SIZE: Approximately 1-9/16" in height and 1-1/16" in width.

MATERIALS / CONSTRUCTION: Gilt brass, enamel.

ATTACHMENT: Vertical safety-style pin with saddle.

MARKINGS: ARTHUS BERTRAND PARIS.

CONDITION: 8 (Excellent-): The badge shows little wear.
