Late 1940's United States Navy China Service Medal

Late 1940's United States Navy China Service Medal. The round medal is suspended from a yellow ribbon with a thin red stripe on either side. The front of the medallion depicts an embossed ship with sails billowing and is surrounded by the words: "CHINA SERVICE". The reverse of the medal features an eagle perched on an anchor with lovely detail and reads: "UNITED STATES NAVY FOR SERVICE"
